Earl of Scarbrough
Earl of Scarbrough er en arvelig britisk tittel i Peerage of England , oppkalt etter byen Scarborough i North Yorkshire .
Earls 'familiesete var tidligere Lumley Castle i County Durham og er nå Sandbeck Park i Maltby i South Yorkshire .
Tildel og underordnede titler
Tittelen ble opprettet 15. april 1690 for Richard Lumley, 2. viscount Lumley . Han var en av de sju jevnaldrende som hadde invitert William of Orange i 1688 til å krysse over til England med en hær.
Han hadde allerede i 1663 fra sin bestefar Sir Richard Lumley (1589-1663) arvet tittelen Viscount Lumley , of Waterford , som hadde blitt gitt til denne 1628 i Peerage of Ireland . I tillegg ble han oppvokst i Peerage of England i 1681 til Baron Lumley , av Lumley Castle i County of Durham , og i 1689 til Viscount Lumley , av Lumley Castle i County of Durham.
