Bill Carrothers

Bill Carrothers (* 13. juli 1964 i Minneapolis ) er en amerikansk jazz - pianist .

Leve og handle

Carrothers begynte sin musikalske karriere som tenåring som spilte med lokale band i hjembyen og spilte inn debutalbumet The Artful Dodger . I 1988 flyttet han til New York City . På 1990-tallet spilte han med Bill Stewart ( Snide Remarks , Telepathy ), Ira Sullivan , Jay Eppstein , Scott Colley , Wendy Lewis og Herwig Gradischnig ; I 1997 jobbet han på Dave Douglas 'album Moving Portrait . I 1999 ble et duoalbum med Bill Stewart opprettet for Birdology . I 2002 spilte han inn albumet Ghost Ships i en trio med Stewart og saksofonisten Anton Denner ; I 2003/04 var det 14 improvisasjoner som Carrothers spilte inn i trio for albumet Shine Ball . I tillegg ble et album opprettet i 2005 som en duett med pianisten Marc Copland ( No Choice , 2005). Med hans faste gruppe ble albumene I Love Paris (2005), Keep Your Sunny Side up (2007), Joyspring (2009) og Castaways (2012) gitt ut på Pirouet- etiketten ; Trioopptak med Bill Stewart og Gary Peacock fra 1992 ble gitt ut der i 2008 ( Home Row ). Albumet hans Duetts with Bill Stewart (1999) var blant andre. tildelt den tyske rekordprisen.
